As part of my ongoing ‘Learn How to Garden’ project, I have been planting some spring bulbs in our front garden. This is the perfect time of year to sow some pretty daffodil bulbs, forget all about them, and then be pleasantly surprised when they rear their sunny little heads again in March. I went to a garden centre and chose some Tête-à-tête daffodil bulbs, which are the mini variety, and some tulip bulbs, then spent a couple of mornings this week digging and planting, with Jacob taking an extremely mild amount of interest.
Gardening always seems to throw up so many questions when I am up to my elbows in dirt. How deep should the hole be? Should two bulbs go in the hole or just one? How much water will they need? Don’t even get me started on types of soil. I have so much to learn, but that’s part of the fun! I am delighted that the geraniums I planted in July are positively bursting with new flowers every single day. I am feel like I am just waiting for someone to knock on my door and comment on how blooming lovely they are. They also require practically no maintenance which is probably why I like them so much. Do you do any gardening? What are you planting for the spring?
Have a wonderful weekend! x
