I hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying the holidays! We had a wonderful time celebrating with friends and family over the last couple of days, although we missed my brother who has been at sea since September. He spent Christmas floating somewhere near South Korea! Today, we’ve whiled away the hours just between the two of us. I’ve always rather liked Boxing Day – it feels quite peaceful in contrast to Christmas Day and there is time to reflect and enjoy your new gifts. Danny gave me lots of new Kilner Jars in my stocking which I’m very pleased with. My aunt decided to make me a pot of Cashew Nut Butter, although she admitted that she got a bit bored waiting for the cashew oils to be released so it’s really just a pot of finely chopped cashews. So funny! Danny and I went for a very traditional Boxing Day walk to work off all the excessive Christmas goodies today. Us and half the neighbourhood.
After all of the recent storms we were treated to really beautiful, sunshine-y day and it was so nice to spend it with my favourite person. Whilst we wandered through the woods we started to plan all the things we’d like to do next year – especially the trips and holidays we might go on – it’s so fun to dream! I’m hoping for a Colorado adventure – those Rocky Mountains are calling my name. But we’re both a bit terrified to drive on the other side of the road (and the other side of the car) so we’ll have to work up some courage first 🙂 We also worked out a new budget earlier in the day and we linked our Iphone calendars so now we feel all in sync and ready for a new year! I love all the possibility it holds.
^^^^^^I love this photo. Doesn’t he look like Cookie Monster! Cooooooooooooookie^^^^^
Danny found this pretty white heart hanging on a tree branch. On the other side somebody had written “I miss you”. Sweet! I suggested he did little romantic gestures like this from time to time 😉 He responded by trying to eat the heart. Boys will be boys.
Happy Boxing Day, everyone!
